Dave started skiing at the age of 3 and by the time he was 10, he knew that he wanted to live in the mountains and spend his life skiing. After many years teaching skiing in Ontario and Andorra, he was told that Whistler was the place to be, so he loaded up the car and drove across Canada. After arriving in Creekside Village, he got out of the car, looked up at the massive amount of vertical to be skied and said to himself, “I’m going make this my home.” Now a long time local, Dave has never looked back.
On the mountain, Dave can be found bashing down the bumps, rippin’ down the groomers – he has finished top 10 in the Peak to Valley race on several occasions – but his perfect day is skiing powder till your legs are screaming, hit the pub for après, go home, play some guitar and have some red wine with roasted garlic, camembert and prosciutto.
Dave is a CSIA Level 4 Ski Instructor and CSIA Level 2 Course Conductor as well as being a trainer for the Whistler Blackcomb Snow School.
When Dave is not skiing his favourite spot – Safe Chutes – he can be found behind his guitar, jamming in his living room or on stage with some of the local bands. Not surprising as skiing and music are Dave’s passions.
