CSIA Level 3 Training Course
March 15 – April 12, 2025
YES Ski Instructor Courses are the ultimate programs for anyone looking to get the most out of their time in Whistler. We have spent the last few years listening to our graduates’ feedback and we have built the next generation of ski courses!
The Level 3 ski instructor training program is for advanced skiers who already hold the CSIA Level 2 certification.
This course will improve your situational teaching skills, allow you to acquire a better understanding of CSIA technique and methodology, and the role of ski teaching within the ski industry, as well as introduce you to training instructors.
It combines practical ski teaching methods, technical understanding and development, and improvement of guest service skills. You will be coached on your skiing, teaching and people skills with the goal of reaching the CSIA Level 3 standard.
You will also receive suggestions and strategies for your long-term development, and guidance on achieving the CSIA Level 3 certification in future.
Instruction days are Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday each week.
We will be running the program for 4 weeks, you are welcome to join any one week or as many as you would like.
The CSIA has scheduled the L3 modules and exam in Whistler on the following dates:
Teach Module: Mar 31 – Apr 2
Ski Module: Apr 7 – 9
Exam: Apr 14-15
During the weeks where the modules are running, you can join us for just Thursday and Friday each week for $500 per week.
You must have passed the CSIA Level 2 Certification (or international equivalent) to join this program.
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
YES offers a range of accommodation options so you can choose your own experience.
CSIA LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATION
This program will help you get your skiing and teaching closer to the level required for the CSIA Level 3 Certification. If you are keen to get certified, you will need to book the certification course, additional education credits and certification assessment yourself. Find out more on the CSIA website.
The CSIA level 3 standard is very much higher than the level 2, and usually takes significant dedicated training hours and (ideally!) teaching time on snow. If you are not sure if you are at the right level to attempt the certification, our instructors will be happy to give you an assessment and feedback on where to focus your training to get you to the standard.
You can also review the CSIA standard for the skiing elements required using these helpful videos. They show each element performed at different levels so you can get a good feel for what is required. If possible have someone video you so you can compare yourself to the different levels of performance outlined in the videos to see where you need to improve.
